Tofu Plus is a little popular gem in Cupertino Village. We came on a Sunday night at 8 P.M., and it was PACKEDD. The food still came out fast, so I didn't notice any negative changes in service. The interior had lots of seating even though the restaurant looks tiny from the outside. The service was amazing with kind attentive servers. Our server made sure to give us the right amount of attention and ask us how everything was even though there were LOADS of people. Moving onto the food. I got the beef bulgogi and my dad got the Soft Tofu Mushroom Soup with noodles. These dishes came with LOADSS of side dishes that we were nowhere close to finishing. Just look at the images I have put up to see the amount of side dishes that came with our main dishes. There were too many to name, but my favorites were the fish cake and the chili cucumber! Both were insanely good with their own unique flavor profiles. The fish cake was very salty and had the perfect texture almost like a well done egg! The cucumber was the right amount of spicy and was also hydrating and refreshing. My bulgogi was VERYYY TASTY. It had a little bit of sweetness and a lot of saltiness. It came out SOO hot I almost burnt myself. Laid on a bed of caramelized onions I didn't think it could get any better, but with some rice, beef bulgogi, and kimchi it was the PERFECT bit. The beef bulgogi was SOO good it wasn't gamey at all and there was also SO much meat:)! No stinginess all flavor! The only flaw with the beef bulgogi was that it was a tad bit dry, but it was still VERY tender. The tofu noodle mushroom soup was equally as brilliant as the bulgogi. The ramen noodles were bomb in the nice spicy broth. There was also SOO much tofu. It was like a silken tofu because it was so soft! The crunchy mushroom, soft tofu, and chewy noodles mixed with some spicy broth made the PERFECT combo. I recommend getting a medium spicy broth if you don't have too much of a spice level because the mild was pretty mild:(. While the food was pretty expensive the ambiance, servers, and portion sizes made up for this. OVERALL I would definitely recommend Tofu Plus to others and I plan on coming again sometime soon! Perfect date spot
One of the best Korean places in Cupertino! My partner and I are regular customers--it's right next to 7 Leaves and 99 Ranch so parking is easy to find. Whenever we crave Korean food, this is our go-to spot. We usually order some type of tofu soup and LA Galbi--I love all of their banchan (so many choices). It's worth it for the flavor and portion size. We often have leftovers. We've also tried their seafood pancake, ssam, japchae, dumplings, and everything has been great. The staff are very friendly and attentive, and the interior space is roomy and comfortable. We always look forward to coming back!
We were craving Korean food tonight and decided to visit one of our favorites, Tofu Plus in Cupertino Village. There's a reason this place is always crowded, even on a weeknight! Tonight we ordered Beef Soon Tofu Soup, LA Galbi, Beef Bulgogi, and Chicken Teriyaki to be shared among the four of us. The meal started with a good selection of banchan - 12 different dishes! Was a wee bit bothered that the table next to us had only 2 diners (half as many as we had) and still got the same 12 banchan dishes. But we were able to get seconds on the banchan items we wanted when we gobbled up the first round. Service was good and friendly, the restaurant was clean (although they were doing some kind of construction outside with lots of cords and equipment and several workmen), and all the food was delicious. The Galbi was especially yummy and tender and flavorful. Prices were a bit high though, but I don't mind paying for good quality.
I had seen Tofu Plus in the plaza before but didn't have a chance to try it until this weekend. The restaurant itself was packed but we were able to be seated immediately at a booth for our party of 5. Service was nice and attentive and the food came out fast and hot. The variety of banchan was impressive and I honestly can say I liked pretty much every dish. I think their galbi stole the show as it was really tender, flavorful, and came in a decent portion for $37. I'd definitely come back again for my Korean food cravings!
Came to Tofu Plus with the family and we really enjoyed the experience. The meal started with banchan of course and Tofu Plus doesn't skimp - easily 12 different varieties! We opted to share everything so we got a seafood pancake, the bossom for 1, galbitang, and spicy beef kalguksu. Everything was super tasty! The bossom was I dish I had tried in Korea but my family had never tried before so I was glad they got to experience it with the traditional steamed cabbage wraps too! The kalguksu really reminded me of the one in Korea with its strong white peppery broth but I do think I would have enjoyed the non-spicy version more. My mom really enjoyed the galbitang, opting for a third helping at one point! It was also super generous with 4 short ribs! Last but not least, we really liked how crisp and not oily the seafood pancake was. You don't really find this combination often. Plus, it was chocked full of seafood! All in all, solid meal. We come to this plaza frequently when we end up in Cupertino but shockingly this was the first time we tried Tofu Plus. Nice to have a really solid option moving forward!
This is one of my fav Korean spots that's not KBBQ. It's my go to Korean spot for the price point to quantity and quality ratio. The flavors for main dishes are pretty on point. The banchans are on a rotation so only a few stay the same. I've been here multiple times and ordered different soups and beef, pork, and chicken entrées. They've all had good and full flavors. It seems like management has changed a couple of times with different staff, but so far the food is consistent. I went rogue and ordered spicy stir fried squid this time and it tasted very one note, so I wouldn't order again. Seafood pancake has good texture and a light crunch. It could definitely be a bit crunchier. It has a good amount of seafood chunks so you're not just eating pancake batter and veggies. The kalbi flavor is good, not too sweet and had a good sweet to savory balance. The meat itself is a bit tough so chewing gets tiring, so don't give it to grandma (or grandpa). Bottom line: Will continue to be a happy customer here!
Fantastic Korean restaurant in Cupertino Village. Detailed breakdown below: **Service, 5/5** Very friendly, attentive, and efficient service. I was super impressed when the sun was setting and shining directly in one of my group member's faces; one of the staff came over and taped a menu onto the clear table dividers so the sun wouldn't blind her so much. So impressed! **Price & portion, 5/5** Prices feel a tad steep, but the portion size makes it super worth it. Perfect for sharing. **Presentation of the food, 5/5** 10 stars for all the banchan alone haha. They have 12 types of banchan (a lot of other restaurants now only give 3-4, or even just kimchi), and since I had a larger group, they brought out 2 of each, so we had a whopping 24 banchan dishes at our table! So fun to try everything and mix and match the banchan with the main dishes. **Taste of the food, 5/5** We ordered a ton of dishes and they were all fantastic. The soon tofu soup is loaded with tofu and veggies, the galbi is perfectly tender and has a delicious smoky char, and the rice cake soup was light but uber-savory with perfectly chewy rice cakes. If I had to nitpick, my only note is that the middle pieces of the seafood pancake were kind of dense, gummy, and not crispy enough, likely a bit undercooked in the middle. Overall, everything was fantastic and I can't wait to come again!
Tofu Plus never disappoints! They have remained in the top ranking for Korean restaurants in the South Bay. Not only do they have a wide variety of dishes to satisfy any craving, but they probably have the most banchans offered. We had 12 different banchan side dishes! Several variations of kimchi, seasoned veggies, fish cake, and plenty others I can't even name. We grabbed dinner here and were starving, so everything on the menu sounded good. We eventually landed on the kalbi, seafood pancake, and cold noodles. Every bite of the kalbi was perfectly marinated and cooked. Only bones were obviously left over. The seafood pancake is fluffy and packed with octopus, mussels, and green onion. The cold noodles come in a huge bowl and can easily be shared. Service is super friendly and speedy. Overall, money is always well spent here and you will leave satisfied!
